Seattle neighborhoods are distinctive

Whether a long-time Seattle resident or new to the area, it’s the diversity of Seattle neighborhoods that gives our city it’s energy and flair.

Magnolia
Located on a peninsula west of some of Seattle's busiest neighborhoods, Magnolia seems like a tranquil island in a big-city ocean. It retains a small-town atmosphere, despite being only minutes from the skyscrapers of downtown. The neighborhood is set off from the rest of the city by three bridges. The central shopping district is known as "Magnolia Village." Discovery Park, the city’s largest, boasts 534 acres that include seven miles of trails winding along a cliff and down to the beach.

Queen Anne
Queen Anne is the highest hill in town with an elevation of more than 450 feet above the waters of Puget Sound. Beautiful homes, tree lined streets and shopping all in close proximity to downtown. Lower Queen Anne includes the Seattle Center, home to the Pacific Science Center, Experience Music Project, Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame, the north terminal of the Seattle monorail, and KeyArena, Queen Anne has long been seen as a desirable place to live.

Belltown
One of the city's hip neighborhoods at the north end of the downtown area. A mix of jazz, rock venues, restaurants, pool halls, cafes, and unique boutiques and thrift shops. You might notice the area is unusually flat for Seattle. It is situated upon what was once known as Denny Hill, which became more the aptly named Denny Regrade.

Fremont
Sometimes referred to as "The People's Republic of Fremont," and at one time a center of the counterculture, Fremont has somewhat gentrified in recent years. The neighborhood remains home to a controversial statue of Lenin. Take a peek under the Aurora Bridge for a sighting of the Troll. The Fremont Flea Market and Summer Solstice Parade are like no other events in town.

Wallingford
Located between the University District, Fremont and north of Lake Union and Downtown, Wallingford is known for its gorgeous bungalows and craftsman-style homes. Some enormous magnificent houses and a few Victorians are sprinkled throughout the area.  Many streets have interesting views of the city to the south.
